IWOA Board Members attended a Legislature Day along with Trees Forever and had displays in the Rotunda area encouraging legislators to promote planting trees in Iowa, reinstate the Iowa DNR Forestry Bureau, REAP funding should be increased and the IWILL initiative funding for the Natural Resources Trust Fund be voted in. Membership in IWOA has never been more important and $20.00 yearly dues is a good start. Keep your membership up and have your friends and tree neighbors join!

IWOA Members and Trees Forever were given the opportunity to speak to an Iowa Senate subcomittee today on proposed revising of the Forest Reserve tax law. The bill was not approved. Please note that there is still concern that the Tree people are not paying their fair share for services and something needs to be done, we can expect additional legislative attempts in the future to address these perceived inequities.
We need to be strong and stay strong. Membership in IWOA has never been more important. Keep your membership up and get your friends and neighbors to join!
